District Boss: Lindsey Barbara

Lindsey is one of the sweetest ladies you'll ever meet.

Her passion for branding and business is palpable from the first time you speak with her. She began her career in teaching and then switched to business coaching after deciding to chase her dream of helping women entrepreneurs.

Lindsey is incredibly inspiring & we're excited to share her interview with you! Enjoy!

1// What lead you to where you are today?

I was previously an educator and teacher, although I woke up one random Saturday in April, 2013 and trusted the feeling I felt...that was time to actually "LIVE" life. I'm a very free spirit and knew there was so much more to life, than the life I was living. Even though I lived in a gorgeous home, drove a nice car, had the salary - none of it mattered if I wasn't true to myself, my dreams and my happiness.

It was time to explore the path less traveled and start my own business - so I resigned from my job, left my entire life behind, to go live in Europe and travel the world. My life completely changed the day I arrived at the airport, passport in hand, ready for stamps and adventures of a lifetime. I followed my heart and never looked back...

2// What is your business?

Lindsey Barbara is a lifestyle brand - brand styling and business mentoring for the passionate, creative, female entrepreneur - with a mission to help other women make their business and life dreams a reality by building brands and businesses with love and personality.

I get to know each and every one of my clients and students, to where they start as clients and end as amazing friends. Therefore, I am able to help each client build a solid lifestyle brand and business that truly speaks to them, as well as their dream clients

I am not only a brand stylist and business coach; I see, listen, and hear my clients vision, and dreams - I'm your mentor from day one for the work we create and do together. I believe every business and every woman can be successful when they are true to themselves and what they desire/dream to share with the world.

3// What brings you the most joy when you’re working on your business?

I love being creative in my business with networking online and creating new content for my business. Doing webinars and creating content for free to share with my audience is what really lights me up, as I am able to share my knowledge to the masses.

Seeing my clients and audience succeed and make progress ingrowing  their businesses really fills my heart because they are following their dreams. I truly love teaching, so I love to see clients/students take the knowledge they receive and implement. If I could spend the entire day marketing/sharing my knowledge for free - I totally would do that!!!

4// What’s the most difficult part of being an entrepreneur?

Even though the life of an entrepreneur can be unpredictable and it requires one to wear many hats at one time, I take all of these as opportunities for more greatness and addictions for my business. Life as an entrepreneur is a journey and I fully embrace the journey to continue to grow my business and reach my dream clients and audience on a daily basis. :)

5// What’s your nighttime routine?

My nighttime routine consists of always relaxing in some capacity - I'm a foodie at heart, so I like to spend some quality time in the kitchen each night to decompress. Cooking and taking time to fully be present while eating helps me recenter after a work day and I get to enjoy making new recipes and being creative with food.

I try to take a walk every day, even if it's only for 15 mins., as I love nature and spending time outside with fresh air also helps me calm and relax after the day. And of course, I love my TGIT time, so you can find me watching ABC on Thursday nights. Friends, family and good laughs are always mixed in during the week too - a good balance of exercise, amazing food, company, and fun make up the perfect evenings for me!

6// What’s one piece of advice you would give to other business owners?

"Life's a journey - not a destination." The same thing goes for being your own boss and entrepreneur. Following the journey and trusting in the journey is so important, as that is what leads to success and ultimate happiness in your business. Staying true to your own dreams and ambitions are key as well - sometimes we can get caught up in the "noise" we see/hear on social media but remembering your "journey (dreams)" will keep you moving forward, aligned and authentic to your brand, mission and business.
