When I founded L&L Events in 2013, I really hit the ground running. Thrown into a brand new, shiny world full of brilliant minds, I found happiness among so many incredible wedding vendors. All of these talented creatives with one shared goal: to help our clients achieve a successful event. I quickly realized just how amazing and valuable a preferred vendor list was.
Planning your wedding, as exciting as it is, can also be a daunting challenge. How do you know who will be the right fit for your wedding? It is beyond easy to hop on to one of the many wedding websites to search for your vendors; after all, their reviews sound great and their photos are usually gorgeous. So what is the benefit of selecting your vendors from a preferred vendor list when there are so many virtual options at your fingertips? The answer can be summed up in four words, your wedding dream team.
Making it onto a preferred vendor list is no easy feat! When I add vendors to my preferred list, it’s an indicator of team success; that we have come together as a wedding dream team. We have harmoniously worked together on previous weddings where they have gone above and beyond to exceed my client’s expectations and needs. I also know that they are true professionals and are reliable on the back end; I can trust in our compatibility, and love that working a wedding with them allows me to do my best work possible. With a preferred vendor list, there is a certainty of true vendor success that you just cannot find by randomly assembling your vendors.
Another way I establish a wedding win is to carefully curate a vendor list for each and every one of my clients. Every wedding is wonderfully different, so it is important to ensure that the vendors on my list are not only compatible with me, but they are also perfectly compatible with my clients. While I know that my list of vendors is filled to the brim with remarkable people, I also know which ones will be best suited for my clients and their needs.
As a planner, I am a matchmaker of sorts; and let me tell you that it is as fun as it is helpful! I will look at all my client’s needs and visions to decide which vendor will be the perfect match for them. I consider my client’s style, their budget for each vendor and the overall wedding day goals and use these details as my guide. As an example, while I have multiple photographers on my list, if my client is looking for a light and airy, but photojournalistic style, I know exactly which photographers to pair them up with, and which ones not to. With a preferred vendor list to refer to, I can confirm that not only will my client’s be working with experienced professionals, but also they will be getting exactly what they have envisioned for their special day.
